What's included
This training is in one of the most popular 3 axis microlights - a 2-seater Ikarus C42 . With the same stick and rudder control as a normal aircraft, the C42 has all of the safety, comfort and performance features associated with traditional light aeroplanes (but without the cost). A cabin heater ensures that flights are possible all the year round; provided the weather is suitable, no special clothing is required. Like traditional aircraft they have control surfaces on the wings (ailerons) and tail-plane (elevators and rudder) which can be moved in the airflow, to manoeuvre the aircraft in the air. Pilot and passenger sit side by side. With three lessons including ground school and hands-on dual-control flying you'll get a comprehensive introduction to flying and gain 3 flying hours for your pilot logbook.
With each 1 hour you will have a pre- and post-flight briefing and you will also be making a start on your groundschool.
In the classroom you will learn
- Theory of flight
- Aircraft safety
- Planning a flight
Then it's out to the airfield:
Learn how to
- get into and out of the microlight
- do pre-flight checks
- become familiar with the instrument panel
- start the aircraft
- taxy to the take-off position
- take-off
- straight and level flight
- banking
- descent and landing
Your course also includes:
Insurance cover
Club membership
Aerodrome fees
This three hour introductory pack makes a great gift idea for anyone fascinated by the idea of flying and wishing to devote the time and effort to studying this most rewarding of challenges.
The weather plays a very important part in all forms of flying, but Microlights are a little more susceptible to the elements than other forms, so please bear that in mind.
