What's included:
Meet your pony: introduction to your equine partner for your experience
Safety first- Checks on your harness and carriage, collect your appropriate safety equipment (note if you have your own jockey skull standard at you are welcome to bring it)
Pick up the reins- learn howto hold and handle the reins, before they are attached to the pony! Please note that wealways operate a dual control rein system so you will never be in sole control of your ponty until you are confident to do so.
Harness up- learn about how to put on, check and fit your harness on your pony
Putting to- harness your pony in the carriage and mount up safely.
Basic commands- the signals to your ponty to halt and walk on.
Practice drive- a steady drive around the field to get the feel of the carriage and the pony.
Steering- learn turns and changes of direction, steer through a basic cones course.
Moving up a gear- the commands for trot.
Cooling down- a few minutes to relax and caht about your experience.
Unharness - take your pony out of the carriage and harness
Aftercare - brush down, feed and check for rubs for your pony, a hot or cold drink and review of the session for you
Finale - A certificate of acheivement to take away with you
Voucher
Each voucher entitles
one person
to participate in this experience. The voucher is transferable, which means that
anyone can use it. The voucher remains valid for bookings for 12 months from the date of purchase. Please contact
the operator using the details printed on your voucher to arrange a date for your event.
Special Conditions
We have no upper age limit and will take children over six, from six to twelve children must be accompanied for the experience by an appropriate adult (the adult will not be required to go on the carriage)
We welcome disabled participants including blind. the only stipulations are that the person must be able to be helped into a low pony carriage easily by helpers and must be able to sit upright without assistance and reasonably hold the reins.
We do operate a weight limit of 14st
Booking your event
We recommend that you purchase your voucher and make a booking for your event at least one month prior to your chosen
date. This is particularly important for weekend events.
